About you work
Discipline: Multi disciplinary
Technique: I create inkblot type drawings which I incorporate within and present alongside my photography and film
Statement:
My work aims to achieve a fantasy-type narrative through an examination of different of perceptions of imagination and reality. My current interest lies in the search for “portals” rather the methods and ways in which we create links between our own imaginary realms and our real world experiences. Inspired by a surrealist dreamlike aesthetic and Victorian trick photography I intend to create the narrative of an on going experiment, looking for these imaginary portals and the attempts at their creation.
Plans for your residency?
Trondheim has a rich and vibrant history, which I find extremely inspiring, My work is entangled with both ideas of narrative and light, which make Norway, with its rich storytelling culture, the perfect place for me to enrich and expand my working ethic. I plan on working within photography and installation inspired by the light and surroundings and using this to create an exhibition within the Babel Gallery. |
