About you work
Discipline: Drawing
Technique: drawing, making, collecting, abstracting, assembling…
Statement:
I assemble fragments of observed, imaginary and abstracted imagery and form. These fragments collect on paper and as objects, and in their connectedness become rhythms of my thought. The suggestive nature of line and mark underpin my practice as it evolves organically from chance encounter and the intuitive act of drawing and making.
I work in the belief that one mark will naturally lead to another and seek inspiration from the dwellings, shelters and vessels that we inhabit. My work serves to evoke remote and fleeting sensations. I hope to conjure tentative states of balance and tension that may resonate with a simple and poetic conciousness.
Plans for your residency?
Continue to grow a collection through chance encounter and intuitive working and to respond to my time spent in Trondheim through drawing and making. |
