Yes, it is a great chance for me to have a good length of time to focus on my practice, something I have been unable to do in London.

About your work

Discipline: collage, printed media, installation

Technique: collecting and editing found imagery and objects

Statement:
My practice exists as assemblages of mostly found images and objects from contemporary culture. The material is sourced from a variety of places, from Google image searches to newspapers, leaflets, fashion magazines, found photographs etc. These are then either left as they are, manipulated or inserted into unusual situations. The work is often reliant on accidental/playful experimentation but sometimes the result of a more specific decision making process.
Plans for your residency?
I plan to focus on producing a small artist’s publication based on the research and collecting I undertake here.  The subject matter will be determined as I work, drawing on my experiences and interests I develop here.  I also aim to produce some studio-based works as alternative outcomes to the publication.
