Duo Georgiana Dobre & Kjersti Vetterstad


Kjersti Vetterstad (b. 1977) is a visual artist living and working between Drammen and Oslo, Norway. Through a wide range of media such as installation, text, sound, video and film, Vetterstad explores themes such as time, place and impermanence, and questions related to identity, alienation, and human-nonhuman relationships. In recent years, Vetterstad has shown her work at Spitsbergen Art Center in Longyearbyen (NO), MNAC - Museum for Contemporary Art in Bucharest (RO), Haugar Kunstmuseum, Tønsberg (NO), Tromsø Kunstforening (NO), the National Museum, Oslo (NO), International Filmmaker Festival of New York (US), Jaipur International Film Festival (IN) and Taxispalais Kunsthalle Tirol, Innsbruck (AT). She has had solo exhibitions at Suprafinit Gallery in Bucharest (RO), Knipsu and Entrée in Bergen (NO), and at UKS, Tidens Krav and Podium in Oslo (NO).

Georgiana Dobre (b.1989) is a Romanian dancer, performer and choreographer who lives and works in Norway. Entrenched in speculative somatic practices and fuelled by references from queer, new materialist and posthuman theory, her work explores, through dance, choreography, text, and video, ideas connected to climate breakdown, the naturalisation of the gendered body, and the ways cinematic representations of gender mediate our relations. Dobre has shown her work at Spitsbergen Art Center in Longyearbyen (NO), Pachenco, Oslo (NO), Suprainfinit Gallery, Bucharest (RO), Sandefjord Kunstforening (NO), MNAC - Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest (RO), Høstutstillingen, Oslo (NO), Knipsu, Bergen (NO), Bruksrommet/ TOU in Stavanger (NO) The National Dance Centre, Bucharest (RO).


Georgiana Dobre & Kjersti Vetterstad have been working together as a duo with video, performance, and text since 2015.
