Ingeborg Annie Lindahl
Ingeborg Annie Lindahl (b. 1981 in Harstad) mainly works different mediums with a focus on the site-specific. She has been most noted for her large scale chalk-drawings and installations. Lindahl’s artistic method combines the outcome from field trips and personal experienced of a place. When Lindahl started working with chalk, she was drawn by impermanence and thoughts for expulsion. She has used chalk in several different shapes; as marble, plaster and pigment. Chalk associates with geology, biology and epistemology. It is simultaneously permanent and durational, fragile and dwindling, and manifests changes in how knowledge emerges and the constant transformation of nature, often affected by humans. Lindahl is interested in the landscape of echoes in the sphere of human thought, and explore culture and value in our time in relation to nature.
Lindahl holds a MFA from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design and BFA from Tromsø Academy of Contemporary Art (UiT) Norway. She has an extensive exhibition practice in Norway and abroad, including Nitja Center for Contemporary Art, Kunstnernes Hus, Anchorage Museum, The National Gallery of Indonesia and most recently in Terminal B in Kirkenes and KB Contemporary. Her art has been purchased by, among others, KORO, The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design and the Northern Norwegian Art Museum.
