Austrian interdisciplinary artist Katharina Gross, living in Amsterdam, realizes projects around new compositions for cello and electronics, visual arts and performance. In Katharina’s work, research on cognitive phenomena fuses with literature and music. In an exciting interplay between acoustic, optical and spatial impulses, she plays with the audience’s perspective. Katharina has been invited as artist in residence 2024/ 25 by the Musées de la Ville de Strasbourg. During this residency she created the audiovisual performance Images Intérieures for the three rooms of the Aubette 1928. Katharina has also composed and performed two music theater performances. As a cellist she performs internationally.

With her ongoing project cellomondo, which asks composers from all around the globe to write for cello solo (and electronics), she has recorded 4 CDs. The 5th edition of the project is currently being planned.
