Nayara Leite

Nayara Leite (b. 1989, she/her) is a Brazilian artist and writer based in Bergen, Norway. Her practice spans research, archives, and storytelling, focusing on LGBTQ+ experiences in Brazil, Norway, and beyond. Working across text, performance, film, photography, and installation, she draws on personal narratives, political discourse, and archival material to portray complex realities shaped by migration, identity, and resistance. Collaboration is an essential part of her practice, and she is actively involved in several collective projects. She is one half of the artist duo Nayara Leite & Kaeto Sweeney. Nayara holds an MFA from the Bergen Art Academy and an MA in Photojournalism & Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication.
