Tore Honoré Bøe
Tore Honoré Bøe (b. 1969) is a multimedia artist from Kristiansand. As he says himself - "my art is as hard to capture as mercury". Contrast, contradictions, riddles, links and references are embedded in his general collage work, slowly taking on the form of a giant workbook. His approach is of a ritual character where direct expression and sudden collaboration are among his main driving forces. He is a neo-traditionalist, developing ideas instigated by Kurt "Merz" Schwitters, playing any method, means and material up against each other if the general work justifies it.
His lifelong process of collecting cast-off objects and transforming them into elegant artworks in small-sized boxes, a project called “Åsted Trondheim”, brought him back to the “scene of the crime”, as he lived in Trondheim from 1996 to 2002. While in Trondheim, he will be working on his absurd dada project, as well as hosting solo concerts and deep listening sessions. The most important things will happen in the spur-of-the-moment meetings with local artists and in public happenings in the streets, he tells us.
