Elisabet Alsos Strand explores the universe of paper and printmaking in the form of woodcuts and artist books. Strand holds an MFA from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design and was awarded a PhD in art from the Matejko Art Academy in Krakow, Poland. Strand has participated in numerous exhibitions in Norway and abroad. She has received several scholarships and recently received an award at the 23rd International Graphic Art Triennial in Krakow. Her work is presented in public and private collections, and she has been awarded several public art commissions. She is the initiator and coordinator of several international collaborations and exhibitions. Strand has spent several periods studying in Japan and regularly teaches Japanese woodcut printing.
