Kunstner på LKV
Jan Eirik Evjen
My long-standing practice is an exploratory, process-oriented, and three-dimensional expression involving sculptures and objects in exhibitions, public art, and scenography. In my dialogue with contemporary society, sharp opinions have often emerged in the media. The resulting exchange of ideas has frequently led to new insights.
I have devoted significant time to political efforts aimed at improving working conditions for visual artists. Many years of service for TBK and NBK, as well as the founding and operation of LKV (Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder), were particularly time-consuming - often placing my own artistic work in the background during that period.
In recent years, my production has focused on sculptures as autonomous objects. One example is my solo exhibition at Karasjok Kunstnersenter in 2018–19. New works are created in my studio at LKV.
