Kristina Cepkenovic Karlsen

I am a visual artist with a focus on graphics and textiles. In recent years I have developed a special interest in creating art that is aimed at a younger audience. My expression is abstract, with a slight associative touch that gives the viewer the freedom to interpret and experience the work themselves. Throughout my career as an artist, I have particularly worked on projects that address themes from different phases of life, and I seek to create art that is connected to my own experiences and periods in life. In particular, I have explored the themes of identity, memory and memories. In my work, I have developed a language and a technique that moves between collage of graphic works, paper cuts, relief prints, prints and textiles. I have a master's degree in art, majoring in graphics, from the University of Pristina, Yugoslavia. In 2002 I moved to Norway, and since then I have had exhibitions both here at home and abroad.
