Welcome to a guest artist talk with Duo TonZats, Wednesday May 27 at 12:00.
Since 2000, the German duo TonSatz has been intertwining poetry and music in a close creative dialogue. This May and June, they are in residence at LKV Trondheim to continue their multi-year exploration of the life of the German-Norwegian painter Marianne Lichtwald Hallbauer (1903–1991) – a project they began in 2024.
Touched by Marianne’s expressive painting style, her deep connection to nature, and her challenging life that led her to Norway, Christiane and Eva are creating free artistic reflections—poems and compositions born from intensive research and conversations with contemporary witnesses.
This research allows the duo to deepen their work while preparing a 2027 tribute to Marianne. This upcoming poetry and music cycle involves complex collaboration with local musicians and choirs. Alongside their artistic development, the duo is currently managing the extensive logistics and venue coordination required to bring this vision to life in Trondheim and some other places in Norway.
